How to get copies of court documents and filings. First, start by searching mycase.in.gov. Some types of court documents and filings are available there at no cost. If the document you're looking for isn't available online, you'll need to contact the clerk's office in the county where the case is being heard. The clerk's office can advise you on how to get a copy of the document.

The Coalition for Court Access was created by Supreme Court order on May 17, 2016 to provide a focused and comprehensive organizational structure for Indiana’s civil legal aid programs. The twenty-one-member Coalition will coordinate all Supreme Court related programs designed to provide civil legal aid to those with limited financial resources.

Historically, court records in Indiana have been presumed to be open for public access, unless those records fell into certain exceptions that were deemed confidential. The philosophy of open records is that government and the public interest are better served when records are open for public inspection.
